Originally opened in 1936, the site has hosted elite swimming for generations.

Crystal Pools, Australia’s most experienced and capable commercial pool builder was commissioned by Icon Construction, under the ownership of North Sydney Council.

The new centre combines the historic character of the original 1936 pool with a much larger modern aquatic, fitness and leisure offering.

• 50-metre olympic-sized competition outdoor pool with 8 lanes.
Now a treated 60% saltwater pool, filled with water drawn directly from Sydney Harbour and heated.
• A heated indoor 25-metre lap pool with four lanes for structured swimming and training.
• An extra warm 20-metre indoor program pool for Learn-to-swim classes, hydrotherapy and more.
• An outdoor dedicated family/childrens leisure pool including:
An outdoor children’s pool, splash pad, water sprays and interactive water-play features. A rain curtain and water jets, as well as family-friendly areas around the pool.
• There’s also a wellness/recovery area with Finnish sauna and a Eucalyptus steam room.
• The new facility has been designed to be considerably easier to use for people with different mobility and access requirements.
• A full profile of all the new pools at the facility will be added to our website gallery soon.

In the meantime, here’s a short video of the finished project, now open to the public.
