The summer school holidays are here and entries to our Summer Pool Photo Competition have soared dramatically, in line with rising temperatures.

Crystal Pools is running this competition for past customers, as once built we rarely see our babies again. It’s a joy for us to see the range of pools designs coming in and just how fabulous all the pools are looking when they settle in.

Crystal Pools received industry recognition at the Master Builders Building Excellence 2017 Awards winning 3 major awards in both Residential and Commercial categories.
Taking out three of the main categories in the Commercial competition, Crystal Pools won Best Commercial Pool, Best Commercial Spa and Best Commercial Water Feature categories:
Best Commercial Pool was awarded for the stunning rooftop, infinity pool at Skye Apartments North Sydney (pictured).
Best Commercial Spa was awarded for the Spa Pool at Connor, a unique apartment complex in Central Park, Chippendale.
Best Water Feature was awarded for the impressive water feature at the new Garden House complex in Waterloo.
Another 3 awards were won in the Residential category.
Best Traditional or Geometric concrete pool was awarded for a combined family pool and spa in Freshwater.
Best Freeform Pool was awarded for a stunning asymmetrical pool in Glen Haven.
Best Spa was awarded for a standalone spa in Roseville.
This multipurpose swimming pool was recently featured in the Pool+Outdoor Design magazine. “A winner of the Hills Building & Design Awards this expansive pool is built on acreage in Annangrove, has something for everyone.”
“The homeowners wanted a pool that would cater to the needs of a young and fitness-conscious family for years to come. It includes a 16.7m x 3m lap pool with dive platform, an 8-metre wide general swimming area with spa and relaxing ledges, as well as a slide for the younger children.”
“The pool is positioned at the rear of the home with an unimpeded outlook over the property. The sloping block allowed for a slate wet-edge to be created by levelling the yard with a retaining wall. The 20mm x 20mm glass mosaics that were selected for the pool surface combine beautifully with the surrounding marble paving and glass fencing to create aesthetic cohesion between the outdoor area, home exterior and bushland beyond.”

An article titled ‘Meet the pool builders’ in Pool+Outdoor Design Magazine’s latest edition celebrates Crystal Pools 60th anniversary.
Over the decades we have built pools for some of Sydney’s landmark properties like Admiralty House at Kirribilli, which boasts undoubtedly one of the best views in Sydney and is still in regular use today. Others include Wally ‘Toyota’ Truscott’s harbourside mansion, as well as pools for famous Aussies like Dame Joan Sutherland and Graham Kennedy.
Crystal Pools has witnessed many changes during the last 60 years. In the early days spray and ready-mix concrete were yet to become reality and plans were drawn long-hand in duplicate. Contemporary features such as invisible edging and glass blade edging were yet to appear. These days homeowners are looking at automation and environmental solutions.

In 2017 Crystal Pools is celebrating its diamond anniversary and 60 years as MBA members.
A recent article ‘Crystal Clear with the team’ in the Hills News celebrates Crystal Pools 60 years in the industry. During that time we have built over 20,000 domestic and 1,000 commercial swimming pools.

CRYSTAL Pools is an Australian owned and operated company established in 1957. This year they celebrate their 60th Diamond Anniversary and are proud to be pioneers of many great Australian swimming pools. Crystal Pools has approximately 50 staff members from engineers, designers, managers and trades people. On average, staff have been with the company for approximately 10 years and one staff member is soon to celebrate his 45th anniversary with Crystal Pools.
